About the role

As Digital Product Owner, you will sit at the intersection of business strategy, digital transformation, and agile execution within South Pole's Certificates Business Line. You will own ProjectOS — South Pole's core internal platform for developing and delivering carbon credits — end-to-end, alongside a broader portfolio of digital innovation projects. Your mission is to digitize, automate, and dramatically improve the quality and speed of delivery for carbon credits, Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs), and related services. You will lead cross-functional distributed teams and manage strategic external technology partners to turn complex upstream project-development workflows into scalable digital features.

Primary duties and responsibilities

Own the multi-quarter vision, strategy, and roadmap for ProjectOS, aligning it with company strategy and revenue streams Make and defend critical prioritization decisions, sequence releases, and secure senior stakeholder buy-in Develop and maintain a portfolio of innovation projects supporting current and future product-development needs Conduct workflow discovery with global project development and delivery teams to understand pain points and unmet needs Translate complex user needs into user epics, stories, and acceptance criteria; act as the primary bridge between business users and engineering teams Own and prioritize the product backlog; drive agile cadence including grooming, sprint planning, scope management, and risk mitigation Tie roadmap decisions to financial value cases (ROI, NPV); track CAPEX/OPEX investment against delivered value Act as primary Data Owner for data domains within ProjectOS; partner with Global Digital Business Services on data quality and master data management Define and instrument product KPIs; drive user adoption and enablement Monitor the global digital landscape for relevant products and providers (sensors, mobile apps, remote sensing/GIS, digital MRV, AI); manage build-vs-buy decisions and vendor relationships Formally manage and develop a global team of senior GIS and Remote Sensing specialists

About the team

You will join the Planning & Performance, Certificates team — a group at the forefront of developing and managing climate mitigation activities. The team works closely with carbon project owners, developers, and local communities to manage registration, verification, and evaluation of carbon projects in line with official carbon standards. The role involves leading cross-functional, globally distributed teams and collaborating with external technology partners.

You are an experienced digital product leader with deep expertise in owning complex platforms end-to-end. You bring strong agile delivery skills, financial literacy, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and diverse engineering teams without formal authority. You are highly independent, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to synthesize deeply technical or scientific topics into a clear, compelling vision. Skills and knowledge

15+ years of work experience, including 10+ years in project or product management in innovation, digital, or technology roles Proven experience owning a complex digital product end-to-end (B2B SaaS, internal workflow platforms, or large-scale data products) from ideation through adoption Fluency in agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) Strong grasp of data infrastructure and BI tools (SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, or Databricks) Experience building financial models to justify technology investments (ROI, NPV, CAPEX/OPEX analysis) Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to influence senior executives and engineering teams High emotional intelligence and cultural awareness across global, cross-functional teams Background or affinity with sustainability, carbon markets, remote sensing, field data acquisition, or digital MRV platforms (advantageous), Program management
